I do not have any homework assigned for this weekend so enjoy it. Unless you have not completed the assignments that were due for this week. I have sent home a letter for the students in Grade 4 for the brainwalk on Friday Feb. 6th. We still need parents to volunteer so let us know if you can help out.

Feb 2nd is an early dismissal for the students.

4. We have started Lesson #7 in Math. It is NOT homework because I would like to go through the notebooks and mark the books and then students can work on Lesson 7 and corrections in class on monday.

Ryan has a wheelchair basketball tournament this weekend in Warman so if you would like to show up or are in the area let me know. (306)370-8830 I am sure he would love the support and i think the students would love the experience to see an actual game.

Hey everyone!! I hope you all have a wonderful night. We have a bit of a flu going around i think so make sure to wash hands and cover our mouths when coughing and all that wonderful stuff.

We are working on our hero research tomorrow and the final write up will be due Mon. Jan 26th

Grade 4 - Math Pg. 92 needs to be finished because we will start lesson #4 tomorrow and hopefully finish it up. Our quiz will be on those 4 chapters. NO study sheet will be handed out because its on what you know.

No booster Juice Jan. 27th due to finals.
No bells due to finals until the 28th

Wednesday

Hey everyone! I hope that we are all enjoying the middle of the week just two more days until the weekend. Eston hockey players heading to Moosejaw that are in Grade 4 will be writing their spelling test Friday morning.
There will be no booster juice in the AM Thursday the 22nd or Tuesday the 27th due to students in high school writing finals.
There will also be no bells from the 22nd - 27th because students are writing exams. There will be a bell in the morning and at lunch and after school that is all.

Congratulations to Jason Luong and Austin Bakanec for answering my puzzle island riddle. They get a booster juice from me!!!

Hello everyone!! I hope that you all had an eventful and/or relaxing weekend. A Great Job goes out to the hockey players that won their game last night. WOOHOO!!

Up and coming events

The Yorkton Terriers are staying in town tonight and they are going to be having a practice skate tomorrow morning. They have invited the students to come out and have a skate with them tomorrow at 10:30am. If interested the students need to hand in the form that was sent home with them today. The form needs to be signed, the students MUST have skates and helmet, (gloves, sticks and elbow pads are optional.)

Brain walk is coming up on the 6th of February it starts at 1055am and runs till 2:55pm. If any parents are interested in helping out let me know and i will pass on the word.

Hey everybody. I hope that you all had a blast at the wheelchair clinic today and yesterday. I hope that we all said our thanks to Ryan for coming out. I had a blast myself and fell out of a chair a couple of times. It is definitely a lot harder than one would think. I am glad some of the parents were able to come out and have a wheel around the gym in the chairs as well. If anyone wants to get in touch with SWSA or has some questions i can make sure that you get in contact with the right people.

HOMEWORK

I handed out a monthly reading log to all the grade 5s' today because they would like to join in for this project we have going on. Keep track of how many minutes you read in a day.

Tuesday

Hey everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I am sorry I was not here yesterday. Got snowed in and stayed in Saskatoon an extra day.

Homework
- make sure you are keeping track of how many minutes you are reading a night so that you can tally up the number for the end of the month.

- math unit 2 review done for tomorrow. We will be studying tomorrow in math class and I will be sending some math review questions home with the students for their test on Jan. 15th

- Spelling test of 30 words Friday Jan 16th. They will be from the last 4 weeks of spelling words.

Events
- Ryan is here with the SWSA Saskatoon Wheelchair Sports Association and he will be running his clinic tomorrow as well. Grade 4's will be going during their regular phys. ed time and the Grade 5's at 2:40pm. Parents are welcome to come out and watch.
- Brain walk on the 6th of February. Parent volunteers are welcome.

Hi everyone!  I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.  I am excited because it is snowing in Saskatoon more.  That means more skidooing for me.

HOMEWORK

Cartoon families must be handed in Monday.  I think the majority of you are done.

Grade 4 Math Lesson 12 and 13 #1-7 

We have a math test coming up on the 15th of Jan.  So we will be working on unit review and practicing together.

UP AND COMING EVENTS

Make sure that you are all keeping track of your reading minutes on your calendars at home.  15min a day if you can.  Those of you that are working on the reading log contracts.

The more you read the more chances to win.

Just a reminder that the wheelchair basketball clinic is held on Jan 13th-14th during the students scheduled Phys. Ed times.  Grade 4 will be going on the 14th during the regular period and the Grade 5 class will be going later on in the afternoon.  The reason for this is because of the number of chairs available for the students.  Parents are welcome to stop in and have a look.

 

Brainwalk Feb.6th. - Brainwalk will be held on Friday Feb. 6th and I was wondering if  two parents would be interested in helping out.  I will get more information real soon.  Parents just have to be at a table station in the gym.  There are instructions laid out for you and everything.

Good afternoon everyone! It is getting closer to the weekend and i am sure that you all have some plans to relax after our first week back. You must be exhausted. Taking two weeks of holidays and then back to the grind this week.

- Language Arts - pg. 32-36 Reason for so many is that we had a little too much talking going on in class so i assume everyone is done their pages way too easily so we added another one. We caught on after a bit didn't we Gr. 4?

Hey all! I hope by now we have had a chance to check out the new blog idea that I am working on. I think this will help us all stay a little more on top of things.

I will also start up a spelling bee idea atleast once a month for the grade 4's. This will give us a chance to see if we REALLY know how to spell our words. It gives a chance to try something a little different and adds some variety to our weekly spelling.

Dioramas are way past due and when i finish marking the ones i have, you will get a zero. These were due on the 15th of Dec.

COMING UP!
Wheel chair basketball. Ryan and his cousin Jules will be coming out to show the students in the school how to use the wheelchairs and how wheel chair basketball is played. It gives the students a bit of awareness on using chairs and about wheel chair sports. January 13th -14th. If parents want to come and check it out they are more than welcome.

Welcome back and happy new year!! I hope that you all had a well deserved break and a great christmas with family and friends. I have started this blog for student, parents and myself to help keep us all on the same page. Hopefully this will help us to stay organized and for those that do not bring agendas home, or those that are away sick can see what is for homework and what is going on at school. Looking forward to the next six months!
